3月22日，现年76岁的以太网（Ethernet）发明者、3Com公司创始人
鲍勃·梅特卡夫（Bob Metcalfe）荣获图灵奖
。
图灵奖（Turing Award），由ACM于1966年设立，专门奖励那些对计算机事业作出重要贡献的个人。一般每年只奖励一名计算机科学家，有 “计算机界的诺贝尔奖” 之称。
梅特卡夫获得这一计算机科学的最高荣誉，表彰他为引领大众进入超级连接时代所做的贡献。
据了解，梅特卡夫于1946年出生在美国纽约，是一位享誉全球的计算机科学家、工程师和企业家。
