3月20日消息， 美国曼彻斯特大学的科学家们发明了一种新型材料，名为“星际混凝土（StarCrete）”，用来建造火星的房屋。
目前，在太空中建造基础设施的成本太高，“星际混凝土”就提供了一种可行性方案。
只需要使用 模拟的火星土壤与土豆淀粉和少许盐混合就可以制造出这种材料，其强度是普通混凝土的两倍。
此外，他们还发现了一种常见盐——氯化镁，可以显著提高“星际混凝土”的强度，而氯化镁可以从火星表面或者宇航员眼泪中获取。
