When I asked ChatGPT to perform a task, I used the prompt “Write a 700-word article on the topic what is ChatGPT and how you can use it to Create Content”? 

I grabbed a stopwatch and checked its creation speed.

It was less than a minute at just 57 seconds. 

It was also coherent.

Readable.

And a bit repetitive.

So a passing grade with the subtext “more work to do.”

But…impressive nonetheless.

It was developed by OpenAI (started in 2015) and is a language model that uses a transformer neural network (let’s just say it uses “technology”) to generate human-like text responses to user queries.

The reason it matters is that it is a generational evolution of technology that could take your job or open a new world of opportunity. This is not a fad but a game changer.

Does this soulless machine have a purpose?

Well…as humans we have decided to give the ChatGPT robot a purpose. That purpose is to give it a human face (user interface) that provides an intuitive and natural way for people to interact with machines, opening up a whole new world of possibilities for customer service, content creation, mental health support, language translation, and so much more. 

Its possibilities are almost infinite. 

Since its initial low-key introduction in June 2020 and its very public launch on November 30, 2022, ChatGPT has rapidly gained popularity due to its impressive capabilities. The model was trained on a massive dataset of over 45 terabytes of text, allowing it to learn the nuances of language and generate responses that are contextually relevant and grammatically correct.

Now we have Google, Facebook, Alibaba and other global platforms with huge budgets, astronomical resources and access to a huge ocean of data in frantic catch-up.

• Login to Amazon to buy a new book and it will suggest your next title. It’s been watching your past reads and seems to sense what you might enjoy. 
• Request Google to find you some information on almost any topic for your next blog post or article and it comes back with a large array of global websites that provide resources for your query. But then you need to edit, curate and navigate the torrent of information. 

ChatGPT is a machine that has been built for human bidding. 

It makes life easier. But we are still experimenting with how to play and use its technology to save time, serve us, maybe make some money and be more productive.
