Hello everyone! It's Tony 👋

I was so annoyed by how ChatGPT slowly typed out the answers + kept logging me out every day, so I built a new UI on top of its API.

Introducing https://typingmind.com

Over the past week, I have added so many convenience features to enhance the overall chatting experience with ChatGPT. I'm so excited to share it with you all here.

You will to have your OpenAI API key in order to use the app.

You can buy a license key to unlock all the features like prompt library, chat history search, AI characters, macOS app, self-host option, etc.

Would love to hear all your feedback! Thank you! 😊

@trungdq88 I was actually looking for exact thing that you build, because I would never used the full value of the ChatGPT Plus plan. And would like to pay as I go, and TypingMind madr me have the option to do so, and much more. Love the AI Character. Thank you.
@trungdq88 That is incredible work. An accurate solution is to use chatgpt continuously. Congrats on the launch

Love the product, keep up the good work @trungdq88! Was wondering though, since you use the API of ChatGPT is there a way for you to build in a feature to paste in longer data?

Let's say you have a piece of content of 10K words and you want it summarized, with standard ChatGPT you're running into limits when pasting in your content. Is there a way for you to build it that chunks it up and like this, circumvents these limits and allows for bigger data sets to work with?

Getting fed up with the "The message you submitted was too long, please reload the conversation and submit something shorter." and looking for ways around that.

If you’ve add that, that would make it a total game changer!

@jcvangent Hi Hans, thanks for the kind words! The limit set by OpenAI also apply for the API, and there is no way around this 😄
@trungdq88 so you can’t feed it in pieces to ChatGPT, tell it to combine it in its memory and then tell it to summarise it?
@trungdq88 @jcvangent The token limit is for the whole chat, including history (as far as I know). You could combine all the summaries, save them in a DB, and feed the smaller summaries back in ChatGPT. Not sure if that will yield great results though. Maybe GPT-4 will improve?
@remco_strij your process sounds exactly something you would do with an api tool like this indeed, while we cross our fingers that chatgpt 4 will allow it easier
@remco_strij @jcvangent Unrelated to the awesome TypingMind but - there is a way to work with longer text, but it's not perfect and much more expensive: you can use OpenAI's embeddings model to embed the document you want to work with. That creates a vector for, say, each page of your document. You can then embed the question you have, and use a cosine similarity function to find the content vector that's the closest to the question vector. Then, you convert the content vector back to text and feed it to ChatGPT. The whole thing can be done automatically with a simple script. You're still somewhat limited by the context size but you can essentially have it find the relevant passage in a corpus and use that to answer your question. That said, I'm pretty sure GPT-4 will have a larger context window.

🎉👏 Congratulations Tony on building a new UI on top of ChatGPT's API! That's impressive.

What inspired you to add so many convenience features to enhance the chatting experience? And which feature do you think users will find the most useful? 🤔

@karan_bhakuni I like to solve my own problems, so all of these features are from my experience using the default ChatGPT UI! 😄
@karan_bhakuni I like the domain check integration a lot, I think it's the most value I get out of the app by far. So convenience.
Hi Tony, great job! Now I am getting into the position: See the product from Tony? just go and buy it
