Metaverse Fashion Week 2023 will take place March 28 to 31, with excitement building for the new Dolce & Gabbana digital wearable “Future Rewind Competition” launch. Partnering with the curated luxury marketplace UNXD and Decentraland, it will be the first time a traditional fashion brand launches a fashion contest digitally. The goal is to create opportunities for visionaries to collaborate ideas across multiple mediums.

Dolce & Gabbana Future Rewind Competition Entry Details

Each digital design innovator must submit at least five digital creations with a maximum of 20 full digital inspirations. The collection inspirations can be one or any combination of six prints.

The Collections

The Traditional Sicilian Carretto

Sicily is a Mediterranean melting pot with cultures dating back to Ancient Greece and the influences of Spanish and North African Normans. It is why the island has a mythical and timeless allure. The pieces from this collection feature carretto prints with bright colors depicting folk traditions like Moorish vases and pupi theater.

Quintessential Black Lace

The Sicilian roots of Domenico Dolce & Stefan Gabbana inspire the black lace collection. The pieces’ alluring and almost inaccessible sensuality recall Southern Italian folk costumes. Celebrities like Isabella Rossellini, Madonna and Linda Evangelista support the brand, although the traditional mid-century Italian classic embodies icons like Sophia Loren.

The Famous DC Logo

In 1985, the simple Dolce & Gabbana logo came to life and since its inception, has become one of the most recognizable logos worldwide. Its sophistication and simplicity go above and beyond its original intentions. It will forever stand the test of time as contemporary and timeless.

Leopard

This collection celebrates the pure DNA of the fashion brand. The favorite animal print is always present in fashion books and runway shows, invoking the jungle with its style. From faux fur coats, slip-on shoes, hats and slinky slips, the leopard print is still all the rage. The collection made a remarkable comeback in the winter and summer seasons of 2021/22.

Zebra

Stemming from the Dolce & Gabbana iconic brand pattern, the collection celebrates strong and eclectic women. The rock star style of its striking designs enhances bold shapes and volumes. Its black and white prints spin an irreverent twist on 80s glamor.

Blue Mediterranean

The classic style of calligraphic patterns in shades of deep blue and brilliant white are the leading characteristics of this collection. It pays homage to Majolica, ancient art from Caltagirone, Sicily. The light and feminine pieces include chiffon dresses, silk twill pajamas, caftans and jumpsuits.

Dolce & Gabbana Future Rewind Competition Winner Details

During Metaverse Fashion Week, finalists in the competition will have the opportunity to showcase their designs at Decentraland, the dedicated Dolce & Gabbana space. Public voting from the DGFamily NFT holders and a jury including Mr. Dolce and Mr. Gabbana will select the winning pieces. The digital wearable collection of 15-20 pieces will be co-branded with D&G and airdropped to exclusive DGFamily holders.

Future digital designers for the next generation may apply through March 12. Any design software in any format is acceptable. Applicants must make submissions through a link to the art portfolio.
