The Ripple Lawsuit With The SEC Suddenly Takes An Epstein Angle

The court case between Ripple Labs and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) awaits a ruling from the U.S. Southern District Court of New York. However, rumors have circulated within the XRP community that Judge Analisa Torres, who is overseeing the case, is part of the “deep state.”

This theory suggests that Ripple will lose against the SEC due to Judge Torres’ alleged involvement with an elite group.

This is BAD for #XRP and Ripple in my opinion. I actually now believe that Judge Torres will rule in favor of the SEC and we will have to wait until the case goes to the Supreme Court. pic.twitter.com/2PqeVWL9UY

However, John E. Deaton, a well-respected attorney in the XRP community, vehemently disputes this theory. According to him, Ripple and XRP are “fortunate” to have Judge Torres presiding over the case.

The “Deep State” Theory Surrounding Judge Torres in the Ripple Case

The theory that Judge Torres is part of the “deep state” was disseminated by a popular Twitter account in the XRP community with 141,000 followers. This account alleged that Ripple would lose the case against the SEC due to Judge Torres’ supposed association with an elite circle. Some people seemingly enjoy making things up for no reason.

The supposed evidence for this theory is that Judge Torres dismissed a case against two prison guards who confessed to falsifying records on the night of Jeffery Epstein’s death. That is quite the leap in logic and conspiracy. While nothing is impossible, the whole “connection” seems rather far-fetched.

On August 10, 2019, Epstein was found dead in his cell in New York, with officials believing he had committed suicide. However, some people speculate that Epstein was murdered to conceal the secrets of powerful individuals in the government. It isn’t an implausible story by any means, but one that is nigh impossible to prove.

Nevertheless, Deaton contends that individuals are misconstruing the judge’s decision. Judge Torres dismissed the case against the two guards on formal grounds.

A Fart in A Bottle?

“People are misinterpreting this completely. They read that Judge Torres dismissed the case against two guards who falsified records related to Epstein and then make the unfounded leap that Judge Torres is part of the deep state and will therefore rule in favor of the SEC. This is absolutely untrue,” Deaton stated.

According to the attorney, Judge Torres did not summarily dismiss the case, as the rumor implies. Instead, she dismissed the case following an agreement “after prosecutors said in a filing last week that the guards completed deferred prosecution.” Deaton added, “We are fortunate to have Judge Torres presiding over this case.”

At this moment, the rumors have not influenced the price of XRP. Nor is any price impact expected following these ramblings.
