The role of the father in a family is so underestimated that it was not until recently that we began to remember that there is Father’s Day, and it is on the 20th of June. The fact that the father does not have a strong connection with the newborn due to the different biological characteristics does not justify why men are so excluded from raising their children. Nowadays, the father’s role is being more recognized and in a few years, Father’s Day may be as popular as Valentine’s; who knows? Let’s see how you can surprise them.

1. Host a party
   If your dad is a social kind of person, you can have a party. It is not very common for people to organize parties for Father’s Day. There will not be other invitations from other people on this day. Having a party with guests and friends all around the place will be a lovely idea. Since we talk about Father’s Day, the whole concept should be oriented to family. It would be better to have the party at his place where you grew up together rather than to choose a hall for this event. You can combine it with an outdoor movie in the yard if the guests are close friends. If you want to add a note of glamour, make a special toast and praise your father’s talents and the devotion he has shown to his family. At this point, your father will have the chance to socialize with others differently. This time he will just be a father among other fathers, not the successful businessman or devoted husband. He and his friends will realize that men can hang out with their parental role at the center of attention.
2. A ticket to a game
   The truth is that fathers are more about fun, even though they often discipline their kids. If you want to simply cheer him up, give him tickets for the team he supports. If he is not a big fan of soccer, football, baseball, rugby, etc., go ahead and offer tickets for his favorite event. Attending any kind of show together will be awesome. You will have some quality time together, reminding you of the good old times and creating new bonds between you two. Besides, you will certainly both have a good time and the whole day will not be a waste.
3. Treat his lunch in a restaurant or a cookout
   The father’s role is often focused on the financial support he offers to the family. This has traditionally been the role of men in society. This is how society worked until recently. Regardless of whether this is a good or bad thing, it is a fact for people of previous generations. In an attempt to divert things, we would suggest that you will attempt to pay the check this time. Whether it’s pizza you ordered or a fancy restaurant, you went to together; you can let your father feel relaxed this time and explain you can offer the same. Besides, it will be a way to tell him that he has taught you right and that you can take care of the economic part as well.
4. His first photo holding you in his arms
   Who says men can’t be emotional? If you can have access to old photo albums, you can explore them and check if any gems are hidden among these pages. You may be surprised to find a picture of your family being all together and happy or perhaps a photo of your dad with you as a baby when he first held you in his arms. Pick one of the best photos you can find, and there you go. Put this special photo in the picture frame, and make sure you have good packaging. See his face when he finds out it is not a book and it is a moment of himself with his precious child. Don’t be surprised if tears show up. Men often hold their feelings and avoid expressing the more vulnerable parts of their personalities, so when small moments like that appear, they act as a way out for them.
