家里的 NUC8 一直用作 HTPC，想用来同时折腾单臂路由，不知是否可行？

背景：网络设备有线、无线大约在 40 台（含智能家居），目前是用的 Linksys 的 MX5500 系列，4 个节点，有线回程。想尝试折腾一下软路由。型号是 nuc8i5beh 。
不知道是否可行？比如性能是否足够，以及有没有什么坑需要注意的？感谢各位大佬。
p.s.对软路由是小白，从未实际接触过。 p.p.s 对 Windows 的 Hyper-V 也是小白（疫情期间曾开虚拟机专门用于远程办公，也就这么一丁点经验了）
