PS5与Xbox Series X|S之所以被称为“次世代”（第九世代）主机，除了性能方面的提升外，最大的变化就是光线追踪这一图形技术的加入。
而在手机游戏上， 光追技术的加入，同样可以视作其步入次世代的标志。
今天，三星在MWC 2023上宣布，将率先开发基于光线追踪的移动设备图形渲染技术，这项技术可以极大地提高图形质量和真实感。
