3D CAD renders of the 2023 iPhone 15 have leaked online, revealing all the design changes Apple is planning. This includes bringing the iPhone 14 Pro’s Dynamic Island to the non-Pro iPhones this year.
Like the iPhone 15 Pro, the non-Pro variants will switch to USB-C for charging and data transfer. Thanks to an EU mandate, the iPhone maker seems set on retiring the Lightning connector this year.
iPhone 14 Pro’s Dynamic Island is coming to iPhone 15
9to5Mac shared the iPhone 15 CAD renders. They arrive just days after the iPhone 15 Pro renders made their way to the internet and revealed all their design changes. Unlike the Pro models, Apple is not planning any significant redesign for the regular iPhone 15 lineup.
Based on the CAD renders, the iPhone 15 will have a slightly bigger 6.2-inch display vs. the iPhone 14’s 6.1-inch panel. This slight bump in size could be attributed to the upcoming iPhone shipping with smaller bezels and adopting Dynamic Island. It is unclear if Apple plans to use ProMotion display panels on the iPhone 15 series.
Leaker @URedditor also shared some iPhone 15 photos, giving a clearer look at all the design changes.

Apple bringing Dynamic Island to the non-Pro iPhone 15 lineup this year will help push more developers to add support for it in their apps.
No major rear design changes for iPhone 15
iPhone 15’s rear design will not see any significant design changes. Apple seemingly intends to retain the iPhone 14’s dual-camera layout on this year’s model. The camera hump could be slightly bigger, but it is not clear from the CAD renders.
The renders show the phone with physical power and volume buttons. This confirms rumors that Apple will keep the capacitive buttons exclusive to the Pro series this year.
While the CAD renders are of the iPhone 15, the same design changes should carry forward to the bigger iPhone 15 Plus.
