Hey ProductHunt people 👋

I’m Amine, software developer for more than 2 years now. Today will be forever in my memory no matter the outcome of this ProductHunt launch. I'm super excited to launch Movydick: And The Oscar Goes To, a fun game of votes where you can vote and predict the winners of the next Oscar Awards 2023. ✨

I’ve been working on it for a little over a month now in public on Twitter and I got an awesome encouragement. I market it on Reddit and my strategy was pretty successful in there. I got a very nice feedback and a lot of traffic from there. And now and for the next couple of hours - or even days if my product is crazy enough haha - I will be so happy to see how am I gonna do in Product Hunt. 🥳

I'm not selling you anything.

My main objectives are:

👉 Reaching an audience of highly-engaged product lovers. 👉 Getting feedback that would help me improve not only the specific side project I'm launching but also the main app in itself. 👉 Collecting social proof in the form of reviews and testimonials. 👉 Meeting another builders like me who just love building stuff they dreamed about one night

The main idea

As a huge fan of movies I thought about building a project around movies and TV Shows since that would be a passion project that I can never think about shutting down one day.

So Movydick started as a movie recommendation app back in March 2022. I launched it for the first time in May 2022. And recently I decided to build a side project inside that project... because why not? The Oscar Awards are coming next March so I thought why not? Let's do it. And the feedback it got was mind-blowing for me.

I will never ever stop working on this app. Because I've became so obsessed with it. For me this app is not an app anymore. It's like a human being living with me. It's a part of my life now 🙂

And there is a lot coming.

Now you just gotta stay tuned... coz I'm not gonna slow down!
