Not eSports; Gambling

Skillz promotes itself as an eSports company. They claim that their games are skill-based. They are not. They are gambling.

Analysis of player win/loss ratios clearly shows that all players win roughly 50% of games, regardless of their "skill". That's not an eSport. That's a slot machine.

The average win rate for a brand new player is 56%. The average win rate for the best players is 53%. Skill has almost nothing to do with the outcomes.

Rampant Cheating

Skills claims to utilize "state-of-the-art security protocols and advanced quantitative analytics" to combat cheating. The truth is that they employ almost no technical safeguards to prevent cheating. Instead they rely on the same technique used by Vegas casinos to prevent cheaters: they remove players that win too often from their platform. The only reason that this is a reliable mechanism for catching cheaters is because their games are chance-based and not skill-based like they claim.

Nobody Wins Money

You can never win more money than you've paid. If you somehow do, Skillz will suspend your account when you attempt to withdraw. They'll say you were cheating. And they'll be correct because there is no other way to ever consistently win on their games of chance.

Creating Addicts

Unlike a gambling company, Skillz offers no guidance to their users about gambling addiction. Their products are creating gambling addicts. Worse, they are profitting off those addictions.
