When You Won't Admit Your Heart Sings
Barbara Krasnoff: Where Are the Good Android Apps for Mastodon?
Currently, the one that’s recommended most often seems to be Tusky, but I’ve tried that, and while it looks like a decent app, it just doesn’t do it for me. There are several others out there, some still in development, so I’ll have to resume my hunt for an Android app that offers the native flexibility I’m used to combined with the artfulness of an iOS app. That (referencing Candide) would be, for me, the best of all possible worlds.
Barbara links to John Gruber's Making Our Hearts Sing piece, and comments that this flowery language doesn't resonate with her, and that software is more of a heartless tool to get things done for her.
But the article is all about how the Mastodon apps for Android don't really do it for her even though they're technically competent (and often more feature rich than Ivory). I think software can make Barbara's heart sing at least a little, she just may not think about it in that way.
Hey there, I'm Matt!
I'm a UI/UX designer at NMI and I make videos over on A Better Computer, which I think you'll love.
