Find jobs in culturally-disruptive industries
The Groovy Careers website started as a side project for me to practice building a Jamstack site and dive into React, Typescript, Gatsby, Algolia, and Sanity CMS. I chose to build a job board because because it had enough features to challenge and build my coding skills without overwhelming me. I found a lot of niche job boards out there, but none seemed to cater to what I would consider a "cool" job—jobs at companies pushing right up against the edge of our cultural and social boundaries.
This isn't to say that I don't consider other jobs "cool," but I wanted to build a job board that put cannabis, psychedelics, sextech, and other often stigmatized industries front & center. What other industries do you think should be included on Groovy Careers?
I'm sure there are still quite a few kinks to be worked out, but it seems to be at a useable point! If I have the time, next I plan to add a blog and build out a more robust company profile user authentication system.
