OpenTTD是游戏运输大亨的民间开源版。遵守GPL 2.0开源协议。OpenTTD 逆向工程自Microprose 1995 年发行的“运输大亨”游戏《Transport Tycoon Deluxe》，玩家扮演新成立的运输公司老板，通过建设铁路、公路、桥梁、机场、车站等设施，运输旅客、货物等方式营利，通过运输赚取最大利润，经过残酷的竞争，最终打败对手，成为运输大亨。
玩家可以自由定制游戏内的各种元素，下载社区制作的各种 Mod，包括真实世界的车辆，新工业，自定义场景等。2004 年OpenTTD发布首个版本，目前仍保持更新。如果玩家想玩“运输大亨”原版内容，可以拷贝运输大亨的地图，音乐等资源文件至OpenTTD目录下。
