美国阿雷西博望远镜倒塌不再修复后，中国的天眼射电望远镜FAST成为了天文学界的标杆， 这是目前全球口径最大、最灵敏的单口径射电望远镜。
今日，据央视新闻报道，“中国天眼”FAST总工程师姜鹏介绍，
截至目前，FAST发现的脉冲星总数已超740颗。
据了解，脉冲星是大质量恒星死亡后的残骸，是研究宇宙极端环境中物理规律的理想实验室。
随着脉冲星发现数量的不断增加，科学家们未来可通过脉冲星测试阵列，寻找引力波存在的证据，
或通过脉冲星测时，建立自主可控的时间基准体系。
