韩国是全球重要的半导体大国之一，特别是在内存及闪存等存储芯片领域有垄断性优势，这也是韩国出口的主力产品，堪称韩国的护国神柱，产业地位非常重要。
然而2022年，这些存储芯片也失血严重，由于价格暴跌，韩国的芯片出口也遭遇压力，1月份半导体出口额同比骤减44.5%，
半导体出口已经连续5个月同比缩水，且跌幅比上个月的27.8%更大。
这也拖累了韩国整个出口，1月出口同比减少16.6%，为462.7亿美元，进口同比减少2.6%，为589.5亿美元， 由此韩国贸易收支出现126.9亿美元逆差，创单月最大逆差纪录。
这是继1995年1月至1997年5月之后，韩国时隔25年首次出现连续11个月贸易收支逆差的局面。
