Google Fi eSIM feature now available for these Samsung phones

Google Fi

According to a Google Fi notice, some Samsung Galaxy mobile phones will now support eSIM. When the Pixel 2 series was initially sold through Fi, support for the Fi eSIM was first made available. Later, the Pixel 3 and 3a phones got Google Fi support. In addition,  all Pixel 4 series devices enable Google Fi eSIM.  In truth, this feature is popular that even the Pixel Watch support it.  Prior to this, though, only Pixel-compatible mobile phones could use the Fi eSIM.  Google Fi has now confirmed in a new support page that some Samsung Galaxy mobile will get eSIM support.

It should be noted that Samsung Galaxy phones must run Android 13 in order to use the Fi eSIM (One UI 5.0 or newer). The list of devices that will support this feature is led by the flagship Galaxy S23 series.

Google Fi eSIM support list

Here’s the full list of Galaxy mobile phones that support Google Fi:

  • Galaxy S23
  • Galaxy S23+
  • Galaxy S23 Ultra
  • Galaxy S22
  • Galaxy S22+
  • Galaxy S22 Ultra
  • Galaxy S21
  • Galaxy S21+
  • Galaxy S21 Ultra
  • Galaxy S20
  • Galaxy S20+
  • Galaxy S20 Ultra
  • Galaxy Note 20
  • Galaxy Note20 Ultra
  • Galaxy Z Fold4
  • Galaxy Z Flip4
  • Galaxy Z Flip3

You no longer need to rely on a physical SIM card if you’re a Google Fi member and own one of the above Samsung Galaxy phones. Users may quickly configure the Fi eSIM by connecting the Galaxy device to Wi-Fi, visiting the Play Store, and downloading the Google Fi software. Use the Google Account that you use for Google Fi to log in. When prompted to enable Google Fi, select Continue.

It’s uncertain whether the Fi eSIM support will eventually be extended to additional Samsung handsets. For some reason, Google Fi’s eSIM list still does not include support for the Galaxy Z Fold3.
