Support is great. Feedback is even better.

"We're super curious to learn how you feel about applying AI to the changelog/product update writing process overall. Do you think it'll help augment your flow, or create more work for your team in the long run?"

Hey Product Hunt community! 👋

I'm JJ, the founder of Makelog, the changelog for modern software teams.

Super excited to share what our team’s shipping today! 👇

We're demoing our Makelog + GPT-3 integration, which lets you select issues from Linear or Jira, autogenerate an update, and share it with your stakeholders.

This product is great for any software makers and PMs who view writing release notes as a chore 😄 and wish there were an easier way.

We're so excited to apply GPT-3 to our mission of helping software teams practice continuous communication: the art of communicating what you ship, when it ships. We're planning to automate even more of the release communication workflow beyond just the writing part soon.

We look forward to your feedback and sincerely appreciate the support!

🎉 Congrats on the Product Hunt launch! 🎉 I'm really curious to see how the GPT-3 integration will make writing release notes easier. Could it be so easy that I can do it during my morning coffee? 🤔 I guess I'll have to try it out to find out! 🤓

@paolo_degiglio hehe, thank you Paolo! That's certainly the hope!

We think of it as an accelerant that makes it easier to start writing updates. If you pair it with context you're already capturing in say, your Linear or Jira issues, it should definitely save most product folks a lot of time!

Excited to see what you think!

Congratulations on the launch of Makelog! I'm interested to learn what kind of results you've seen with GPT-3 and how it has improved the changelog experience. Would love to hear more about how Makelog has helped you and your stakeholders.

Hey @samalyx! Thanks, that is a great question! I have to admit, writing release notes is a new challenge for me. As an engineer, I’ve never had the opportunity to do it before.

But after dogfooding our own product with GPT-3, I’ve found it to be a breeze! Check out these examples I crafted using GPT-3's assistance:

I had to apply a couple of tweaks, but the AI wrote 90% of them!

Interesting! Does it only capture the title of the ticket or does it also analyse the content of the commits to understand what has actually been done?
