There have been many scandals with the Russian studio Mundfish. Now, there are more details that should make you think about your data safety when playing its game, Atomic Heart. As the privacy policy on the studio’s website reads, the studio collects user data. Well, this is not the worst thing. It turns out they may provide it to Russian state authorities, for instance, the FSB.

Let’s see what is wrong with Atomic Heart. This is a long-standing Russian game studio that worked in Moscow and has now moved to Cyprus. They are “making money” for Russian investors that are connected to sanctioned firms.

The studio says it has nothing in common with politics (“out of politics”). And many people believe in this. But the truth is they are using the “Gazprom” money and the sanctioned VTB. But this doesn’t prevent many gamers worldwide from having some interest in this project.

Well, if a gamer wants to play Atomic Heart, it’s up to him/her. But they should know that the privacy policy of the studio allows it to collect user data. Then, it can be transferred to FSB. By the way, the privacy policy is Russian. There is no English version of it.

The authors of this policy, citing the legislation under which the data are collected, also mention Russian mobilization laws. They state that soldiers are recruited in Russia to continue the war against Ukraine.

So after this, it remains a rhetorical question why a Cypriot firm links to Russian laws that support the war. What’s worse, why the same studio thinks there is nothing wrong with giving user data to FSB?
