Homerow

Keyboard shortcuts for every button in macOS

Free Options
Keyboard shortcuts are fast and awesome. But there are still many actions that require you to reach out for the mouse. Homerow solves this by allowing you to search and click on every button or link in macOS.

Happy Lunar New Year, Product Hunt! 🍊🌖✨

As a programmer, I found it annoying to constantly switch between the keyboard and mouse when I'm in the zone. While keyboard shortcuts are useful, not every action has a corresponding shortcut. That's why I created Homerow, a macOS productivity app that lets you keep your hands on the keyboard when you need to click on buttons or links.

Homerow allows you search and click on buttons on your screen. It's similar to Spotlight, but for the macOS user interface. Features include:

✅ Search and click on buttons on the frontmost window, menu bar and dock. ✅ All types of clicks: Left click, right click, double click, and command click (aka Open Link in New Tab). ✅ The Tutor 🤓 - Learn about the searchable properties of a UI element by pressing ‘?’. ✅ Disable Search for ergonomics: When search is disabled, labels for all UI elements are always shown, and label-text can be typed without holding Shift. Made for those who ❤️ Vimium and Vimperator.

Homerow works with most native apps, and a growing set of web apps. This includes popular browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Brave, and Arc. If there's an app that doesn't work well with Homerow, please let me know!

The app is currently free to use - but I appreciate any purchases of the license to support a fellow indie developer ❤️.

Enough said, please go check it out! 😄 Do share it with someone you know who would like this!

P.S. I also made Vimac (https://github.com/dexterleng/vimac) a few years back. Homerow is a more polished and performant version of Vimac, taking into account all the things I learned from its predecessor.
