随着24日零点的到来，从2005年进入国内市场的魔兽世界国服就此关闭了，从45级公测开始玩的老玩家坚守了18年，至此一切归零，化为几十几百KB的电子骨灰。
战网客户端都没法连接了
在这18年中，玩家在2009年遭遇了一次更换国服代理的问题，再加上那段时间对玩游戏的批判，还引发了戒网瘾的大讨论，雷电法王杨永信的梗也是那时候流传出来的。
然而2009年换代理，那时候游戏没有停服，玩家依然玩得热火朝天，没有WLK巫妖王，大家在70级的TBC燃烧的远征资料片中还能找到乐趣。
