iPhone 15 Ultra: A Design Evolution or a Copycat of Android?

We are still about a good eight months away from the official unveiling of the iPhone 15 series. But recently, the rumors have started to pick up their pace. One of them, which is from ShrimpApplePro, suggests that the iPhone 15 Ultra may feature an Android-like design.

Now, what does that mean? The rumor is centered on the screen of the iPhone 15. And it also picks up after the rumor that we had back in November, which suggested that Apple is ditching the squared-off design for the rear. So, is Apple actually going to copy the current design of Android flagships?

Design Details of iPhone 15 Leaked

According to the information shared by ShrimpApplePro, the iPhone 15 lineup will come in the same sizes as the iPhone 14 series. That means we are about to see two standard models, which will boast 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screens. And two high-end models that will feature 6.7-inch and 6.1-inch displays.

However, there is some interesting info about one of the high-end models, the iPhone 15 Ultra. Shrimp says it will feature thinner bezels than its current iPhone 14 counterparts. But this is not the only thing that will make the iPhone 15 Ultra a copycat of Android.

Shrimp added that all the models would sport flat screens and curved edges, much like the design found in the Apple Watch Series 8. Now, in case you didn’t know, squared-off design has been a standard for Apple iPhones. And curved edges are something we have seen in Android phones for years.

Even the leaker implies that the design changes made on the iPhone 15 Ultra and other models will be like Android phones. And this can make future iPhones less distinguishable from the current Android flagships. Still, we would have to wait for some official renders to confirm whether this would actually be the case or not.
