同样是业内推崇的大容量存储解决方案，机械硬盘去年的出货几近腰斩，而那边，LTO磁带的日子却很滋润。
去年，磁带存储的发货总容量达到了79.3EB，同比增长14%。Trendfocus预测，这一增长态势将保持到2027年，复合年增长率为21%。
目前，LTO磁带主要由IBM、惠与（HPE）、Quantum等公司供应，存储的多是那些很少被访问到的数据档案。
LTO磁带的最大优势是便宜，以带有锶铁氧体(SrFe)磁性层的最新LTO-8磁带为例，可存储580TB的数据，几乎是最大量机械硬盘的30倍。
