1月15日，尼泊尔雪人航空公司一架机龄15.5年的ATR72-500双发涡桨飞机不幸坠毁，机上载有机组人员和乘客总计72人。
根据尼泊尔官方消息，事故目前已经造成至少68人遇难。
这是雪人航空和ATR飞机史上最严重的空难，也是尼泊尔民航史上第三严重的空难。
据印度媒体报道， 本次航班的副驾驶员是一名女飞行员Anju，其丈夫也曾经是雪人航空的副驾驶，2006年6月21日遭遇空难身亡。
