早在2016年，三星就获得了“水滴状铰链”的相关专利，但不知道为何，这一设计却迟迟没有出现在三星自家的折叠屏手机上。
现在，根据韩媒报道，
三星计划在Galaxy Z Fold 5中，首次采用水滴铰链设计。
与传统的铰链设计相比， 水滴铰链不仅能够实现屏幕折叠后的完整闭合，更是能够为屏幕提供更为柔和的弯折曲线，从而缓解屏幕折痕，并降低屏幕的开裂风险。
目前，虽然各家的铰链结构设计存在一定差异，但水滴铰链本身已经被广泛应用在了折叠屏手机上，可以说是一种相当成熟的结构设计方案。
