Parlement Technologies, the parent company of Parler’s “censorship-free social media platform,” has fired many of its employees and chief executives in the past few weeks. Parler’s future has been doubted by this sudden staff purge.

Multiple sources have confirmed that Parlement Technologies started laying off employees in November. The layoffs continued until December 31, when approximately 75 percent of employees were fired. This left Parler Technologies and its cloud services venture with 20 employees. According to a source familiar, most executives at the company, including the chief technology, operations, and marketing officers, were also laid off.

Parlement Technologies, Parler’s parent company, is led by George Farmer, the husband of conservative influencer Candace Owens. John Matze, Parler’s previous CEO, was replaced by Farmer in May 2021. This happened shortly after the app had been unbanned on app stores.

Matze stated that he was fired by Parler’s former CEO, John Matze, in a February 2021 interview with The Wall Street Journal. Matze claimed that he wanted to reform the platform’s moderation policies.

When we asked her for comment, Parler’s former PR representative informed us that she does not work with Parler.
