Any options for a "headless" display?
I'm trying to get a 2017 Macbook Pro running with a headless display. I need to use the Parsec program remotely, and it won't work unless a monitor is on. I've successfully used a Headless Fit GS HDMI dongle for years on my Windows PC so I wouldn't have to leave my monitor on. What it does, I believe, is just supply an EDID to the PC fooling it into thinking there is a physical monitor connected.
Anyway I tried this on my Macbook Pro via a USB hub (this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B093FKT9BF?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details ). But after plugging the headless dongle into the hub the macbook isn't seeing it. I'm wondering if there is anything different I would do versus a Windows PC to get the macbook to see the dongle as a monitor. Barring that, if anyone had any alternatives.
