Esports get official recognition from Government of India
Esports have now been included in India’s “multisports event” category by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. It has also been added to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s “matters relating to online gaming” section.
The Indian government is now debating how to regulate online gambling in India. A task force was established to look at this issue.
