I think even though I uninstalled . viper. It doesn't undo the patching of the Audiio effects files
Ima upload my files. Give me a sec
Sku_holi is OnePlus n20 and it's sister variant OnePlus ce.
However. I uninstalled viper and reinstalled it made no changes to post and it's working. Both the repacked version and the Fox mm version.
Selinux is unchanged. Default is enforced.
I'ma try a few more things in thView attachment 5791967e name of research.
I think the trick is the order in which you reboot the phone..
Try this while I finish my lunch
Uninstall and delete all traces of viper from your phone make sure u remove it from the module list too. Restart With power button
Install aml and compatibility patch.
Restart. With power button
Install viper from Fox mm repo. restart with power button.
At this point you should have a viper folder in your /internal storage directory. Enter the folder run the .apk.
Then restart with power button.
Now the viper app appears in your app drawer. Open it. It says install driver press ok. It auto reboots.
Open viper again. But this time Do not press okay. Do not press okay . Do not press okay.
Reboot using the power button.
When rebooted . Open viper and it should work.
This is nothing like a normal installation.
That can't work. Just out of interest I played it again. It doesn't work

audioconf&xml.rar
#5kb
System/etc/audio_effects.conf
Vendor/etc/audio/sku_holi/audio_effects.conf
Vendor/etc/audio/sku_holi/audio_effects.xml
vendor/etc/audio_effects.conf
vendor/etc/audio_effects.xml
Note: don't bother with the post-fs file
reboot

The hardware abstraction layer is different from Android 11.
And libdir is probably different too.
Is your libdir in /system?
Exactly none of this works as describedSku_holi is OnePlus n20 and it's sister variant OnePlus ce.

for one:
when you install v4a it installs the apk automatically, so not sure why you say to go intoa folder to install it manually
none of this alters the fact it prompts to install the driver EVERY time you run the app....which is what it did before you made it an even longer process....

Run the viper app . Press ok auto reboot.
Install the viper module in magic. Reboot.
Open viper. Everything is working

Because in magic it says APK install failed.

Listen. Install the driver one time. Then after reboot. Reboot device via the power button
To borrow your condescending tone: Listen, ive been doing this a long time....Listen. Install the driver one time. Then after reboot. Reboot device via the power button
Dude, i know what im doing and none of the things you assert work, work....and my install did not fail, it completed with the correct prompts in magisk terminal....
What im trying to point out here is that to assert what works for you works for everyone else is a bad idea when it comes to Android....

I spent two weeks hours and hours trying to make viper work. And finally. I got it to work and work everytime it does.
I'm tempted to go buy android 12 and Android 13 phone and get viper working just so you and I can be best friends again

Yes all variants of v4a works for me
Listen and watch.
Are you actually using a Pixel 6 Pro, which is what this thread is about? V4A works for many phones on A13, but not the Pixel 6 or 7 series. If you are not using a Pixel 6 Pro, then of course it's most likely you can get V4A working on A13. This is mostly a Pixel 6 & 7 specific problem.

Wavelet is a usable Viper replacement for me as well. Even with the free version.
I had that beef already with them several years ago, in that they were entiocing payments for normalised/correct profiles for things like Galaxy Buds+ that were already tuned out of the box, so you could actually make them sound worse using Wavelet....ask me how i know....
It was already bad enough they basically monetized viper code....
And ill probably be hunted down again for making those comments (again)....I'd probably fool around with James DSP if I had to.
Not a fanWorth pointing out that Wavelet tends to con people (im not saying theyre complete shysters, just broadly/fundamentally dishonest on several fronts) into paying for it to apply presets to headphones/ear buds that are already tuned/normalised/corrected.

It working for me. Just followed the instructions
/watch?v=RBL-4Guw_LkThese instructions also worked for me on my Pixel 7 running November Corvus rom. Great to have Viper back, as neither wavelet nor poweramp eq could adequately replace it.
i did point that out already, 2 days ago
Just saying...Valid lol but confirmed data is always nice
