Google’s Find My Device program will soon receive an update. Soon, even if your smartphone has no Internet connection, the Mountain View company will be able to determine where it is. Making this feature as efficient as it is on iPhones or Samsung smartphones.

Using the Find My Device app, an Android phone can be found when it is lost or stolen. You may lock it, log out of your Google account, or even reset it using this. The bad thing about this feature is that it requires an Internet connection for it to function. This situation will shortly change.

An intriguing mention to Find My Device is made in the Google Update patch note from December 2022: “Find My Device now supports encrypted last known location reporting for Android devices, using a new privacy-focused framework”.
