DAVE BRIGGS: That was the scene in Buenos Aires after Argentina's first World Cup Final victory since 1986 and arguably the greatest sports game that was ever played, in this man's opinion. Our Ines Ferre, who was born in Buenos Aires, has been following the run closely. She took it all in yesterday. Ines, nice to see you. I'm curious, just, if you could put into words, what this means for the entire country. I don't think there could ever be a similar win for the United States.

INES FERRE: No, I mean, look, for Argentina, this is huge because in Argentina, everybody lives, eats, and breathes soccer, football. This is something that fans have been waiting for, for years, for Lionel Messi, his-- such an illustrious career. And to be able to cement this with a World Cup victory, this is what everyone was waiting for.

Now, I was at a bar in New York City, and there were about-- half of them were France fans. The other half were Argentine fans. Here's the moment where Argentina clinches the World Cup victory. There you go. There you see-- that's me shaking the camera quite a bit because I was so excited. And I was screaming out Messi, Messi because this is such a victory for him and just all of Argentina.

Look, Argentina's economy is in the gutter. It has been for decades now. Inflation there is over 90% year over year. Politics are just as divided as they are here. And for Argentina to be able to win this just says we are excellent at the most popular sport in the world. And we are the champions in a worldwide arena for this, guys.

PRAS SUBRAMANIAN: Hey, Ines, I like your jersey there. Nice work there. So you want to talk-- I want to talk about Lionel Messi because for me and a number of soccer fans, we wanted to see him win that because it was just how he's done everything in the sport and really seeing him get that one big accolade that he's been missing. Do you think he equals now the status of Diego Maradona in your home country?
