Hey Product Hunt! Felippe here - the maker of Upto. I’m very excited to introduce you to Upto’s iOS app today which is now in public beta and available in the Apple Appstore.

Upto is a shared “calendar” and social networking platform focused on allowing users to playfully share upcoming plans and events as well as organize shared ones with friends.

It’s no secret that social media takes up a huge part of our everyday lives and data suggests it comes at the expense of actual real-life experiences, be it with old and new friends. When we do initiate and make plans with friends, messengers are most often the tool of choice and it’s just no great user experience:

-- You know more people than you could ever text individually or create a group chat with. People might be interested to join your plan though -- Group chats get easily cluttered and the key event details become hard to find -- Questionable messenger to calendar integration -- No single source of truth for your event details which is especially troublesome in case of changes (location, attendants, date/time)

***

Upto aims to make sharing your upcoming events more fun by giving friends a glimpse into your calendar and inviting others to join. Further, an event with friends should be more than just a boring entry in your calendar...

** WITH UPTO **

-- Create your upcoming plans in a playful, social media-like way. You are in control of who gets to see it (only you, friends, or invitees)

-- Make planning more asynchronous. Post your plan or event to your friends' feeds and let them decide whether they want to engage and participate. Less work for you and less pressure for your peers

-- Share your exciting plans ahead of time (instead of after the fact as common with Instagram & co) if you want to give others the chance to plan accordingly and join

-- Discover what your friends have planned in your friends feed and get inspiration

-- Especially outside of the tech / new work circles - RSVPs, calendar invites etc. don’t really matter that much. Thus making plans lives mainly in the messenger with shallow integrations to the calendar - Creating shared events with your friends on Upto is the easiest way to get on your friend’s calendar.

-- Sync your events on Upto with your calendar

** USE CASES **

🏃‍♀️ Share that you’re running the Berlin Marathon 6 months prior & find other runners among your peers to train with

✈️ Share your next travel destination ahead of time to get recommendations and find people to meet up with that happen to be there at the same time

👨🏽‍🎤 Share about the concert you will be attending, and you may spark the interest of others to join you

*Ugh, that was a long post…* :) Check it out & let me know what you think. Looking forward to your feedback!

Btw, if you are a Product Designer or experienced React-Native Developer and interested in that space, let’s talk!

Cheers, Felippe
