Stock in Storage location still there after storage location was assigned a warehouse number

Hello SAPians,
i was to create a Warehouse number for a plant and storage location and when this warehouse number was created, the bins are empty. the storage location i used to assign the warehouse to (100a) already had stocks.
In MMBE for material, the storage location (100a) still has IM stock
i tried doing a transfer posting but since its the same storage location system will not allow me
what should i do?
