据悉， 我国科学家利用“中国天眼”FAST，揭示了银河系星际介质前所未见的高清细节，对研究银河系内的星际生态循环具有重要意义。
该研究由中国科学院国家天文台研究员韩金林领导的科研团队完成，系列论文已在学术期刊《中国科学：物理学 力学 天文学》上作为特别专题发表。
我们知道，银河系内千亿恒星之间的广袤星际空间并非虚无，而是充满了稀薄的星际介质，其中又质隐藏了恒星生生死死的奥秘，一直是天文学家不断探索的目标。
银河系内弥漫分布着氢原子气体，稠密的氢原子汇聚冷却，形成氢分子云团，在高密度云团核心中孕育出新一代恒星。
