4 UX online meetup groups you should join, NOW!
If you are someone like me who want to upskill after work but ended up feeling lazy and lacking motivation, then here is a solution for ya: Join some meetup groups!!!!
The reason is simple — It is funnier and more effective than learning by yourself. Also, a lot of times you can expand your knowledge by communicating with other practitioners.
Examples:
I learnt the framework called OKR from a recent meetup, you can check the article here ;
I also heard about untools from a recent meetup and it is such an amazing website for thinking tools.
Today I will recommend some online UX meetups that you should definitely join!
1. The UX Book Club
This online meetup talks about one UX book per month. It is fun to see what are the upcoming events and read the books beforehand!
How to join:
Through the meetup app: https://www.meetup.com/theuxbookclub/
2. UX Support Group
They are based in New York and have both online and offline events.
The amazing thing about them is they run events quite frequently. Have a peek here 👀
How to join?
Through the meetup app: https://www.meetup.com/ux-support-group/events/
3. Interaction design foundation meetups
What I am going to show you is VERY VERY EXCITING!
You must have heard of the international design foundation before. But you probably don’t know they run free UX meet-ups as well.
The great thing about this platform is that you can select different areas and see events from different countries/continents.
And they have even more than these!! Definitely go and check it out 🔥🔥
4. Search UX in Eventbrite
Shocking news: You can find heaps of UX events from Eventbrite! Online and for Free! ( Who said you can only get concert tickets there 🤣)
