Tesla rival Nio and Tencent join hands to develop self-driving tech

On Monday, Nio and Tencent announced that they would collaborate on developing highly accurate mapping systems for vehicles. Tencent’s cloud computing platform will also be used by Nio for data storage and training programmes for autonomous vehicles.
As its primary video game industry faces challenges, Tencent’s cooperation with Nio gives it another chance to push into new business areas.
