印度方面已经研制出了PSLV（极轨卫星运载火箭）、GSLV（地球同步轨道运载火箭，重型）等航天产物。
为了降低成本，今年8月还首次试飞了小型卫星运载火箭（SSLV），可那次发射失败了，火箭未能将有效载荷运抵轨道。
3个月后的11月26日早些时候，印度的一枚新PSLV发射成功，一扫失利阴霾。
据悉，PSLV火箭采用四级设计，高55米，发射114分钟后，地球观测卫星和8颗纳米卫星陆续成功入轨。印度航天局发言人热情表示，这次任务中火箭在所有阶段的功能、性能都非常好。
