Emarsys: Own SMS Provider and Data Monitoring Tool
Hi Experts,
Need your help on below questions:-
- Do SAP Emarsys has any plans for Data Montoring/ALM tool like in SAP Marketing Cloud, there's Monitoring tool?
- Is there any plan to enable Emarsys to use 3rd party SMS Provider like in SAP Marketing tool; as of now it's not possible in Emarsys.
@Will Young - any comments.
Thank you.

Hi Kunal Bansal!
Regarding SMS, we do actually use 3rd-party providers, you can find a list of the approved vendors here. If a customer wants a vendor who is not on that list, they should contact our support to see if a case can be made to add them.
Regarding the data monitoring, I am not so familiar with what the Marketing Cloud offers - what exactly did you have in mind? Do you mean an interface which shows the status of all the platform processes currently running, or all the open campaigns, or system performance? I doubt we would be replicating Marketing Cloud functionality 1:1 but I am sure we will have ways of achieving the same aims.
Hi Will,
Thank you for your response.
- I was talking more about Amazon SNS, Twilio etc which exists already in client landscape and want to continue using. (I'm aware of those tools which most clients doesn't use or wants to use)
- Let's consider integration between SAP CDP and SAP Emarsys and contacts data are replicated from CDP to Emarsys, we don't have any Data Monitoring at Emarsys side to monitor data transfer.
br, Kunal
Hi Kunal,
1. With SMS we have stopped integrating with vendors ourselves (too many integrations to maintain and not scalable), but instead have a partner API which the vendors can use to integrate with us. Therefore in the case of Twilio, for example, Twilio would have to develop the integration themselves so that the customers who are buying Emarsys can continue to send SMS with them, via the Emarsys interface. If the vendor is not willing to do that, then the client can pay for the Emarsys Customer Development team to do it. There are no other options.
2. I'll ask my colleague Nik to answer this one...
I understand, but SAP should atleast provide integrations with market leading products like Twilio, Amazon etc.
Will await your help on Data Migration query.
Hi Kunal Bansal, regarding data monitoring, I could not get any definitive answer but if you look at our product roadmap you can see that there are plans to improve Sales and other Data onboarding, which will bring it better manitoring and troubleshooting tools. I'm afraid that is as much as I can tell you at this time.
