在马斯克入主推特后，为了创收很快就开放了每月7.99美元的“Twitter Blue”会员服务， 但该服务除了会提供广告减半等基本权益外，还会在用户的ID旁显示一个“蓝V”。
这个与推特认证用户一模一样的图标，导致该服务很快引起了“高仿”账号的狂欢， 部分用户在够买会员后将自己的ID改成与知名品牌或个人相似的格式，然后发布假新闻或其他不当言论，引起了其他用户的困惑，也影响了被模仿者的声誉。
因此，推特紧急停止了蓝V的销售，并在今天给出了新的规定。
根据新规，
任何注册时间低于9-小时的用户，都无法申请Twitter Blue会员服务。
