Setting up mastodon.el was a question of adding these 6 lines to my init.el https://gist.github.com/cpbotha/e2a8739171c0471842480635b9df8e3c -- then C-x C-e aka M-x eval-last-sexp -- at which point mastodon.el automatically copied the authorization URL to my clipboard, which I could then paste into my browser to grant perms and then the timeline magically appeared!

Sacha Chua
We've been working on #EmacsConf videos so that they'll stream with hand-edited captions and have transcripts available on the days of the conference. Out of 39 talks scheduled, 18 have been uploaded by speakers. Of those, 13 have been captioned, and the rest are being worked on by volunteers. It's amazing to see how people are generously sharing their time and energy - the speakers in making their presentations, and the captioning volunteers in making all this easier to search and understand.
