11月10日消息，据macrumors报道， iPhone 14的“卫星紧急求援”（Emergency SOS with Satellite）功能将于11月上线 ， 苹果将向Globalstar等公司支付4.5亿美元（约合人民币32亿元）。
苹果表示，其投资了Globalstar在阿拉斯加，佛罗里达州，夏威夷，内华达州，波多黎各和德克萨斯州的地面站，以确保iPhone 14用户能够连接到紧急服务。
据悉，苹果最新的iPhone 14系列引入了“卫星紧急求援”功能。 当用户超出WiFi或蜂窝移动网络信号覆盖范围时，可在必要情况下通过卫星连接发送紧急求救信息。
当iPhone用户通过卫星请求发出紧急SOS时，Globalstar在低地球轨道上的卫星将接收到信号，并将消息发送到位于世界各地的定制地面站。
