Ford, VW seeking buyer for Argo AI's lidar unit
Ford and Volkswagen are trying to squeeze any remaining value out of Argo AI, the autonomous vehicle startup the two automakers invested billons in before abruptly shutting it down last week. One of the primary items on the block: Argo Lidar, an 80-person team and the lidar tech they developed, according to sources familiar with the unwinding of the company. Argo AI was barely a year old when it acquired Princeton, New Jersey–based lidar startup Princeton Lightwave in October 2017.

The Cost of a Blue Check: Eight Bucks a Month
Elon Musk spent part of Tuesday brokering his new plan that has Twitter users paying a monthly fee for their verification, or blue checks, as a way to “pay the bills somehow.” After negotiating an $8 monthly price with horror fiction author Stephen King on the platform (Musk reportedly had considered a $20 monthly fee, which King complained about in a tweet earlier on Tuesday, and then Musk made the lower offer), Musk tweeted out a sales pitch on the idea in the early afternoon. “Twitter’s current lords & peasants system for who has or doesn’t have a blue checkmark is” nonsense, Musk tweeted, using a stronger barnyard term.

Lula cheered for new climate policies after Brazil election
SAO PAULO (Reuters) -Environmentalists, world leaders and sustainable investors on Monday cheered the victory of Brazilian President-elect Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who has promised to protect the Amazon rainforest and restore Brazil's leadership on climate change. In his victory speech, Lula pledged to clamp down on illegal logging, mining and land grabbing that have driven the surging deforestation of the Amazon over the past four years under President Jair Bolsonaro, who lost Sunday's election. "Brazil is ready to retake its leadership in the fight against the climate crisis," Lula told a crowd of supporters in Sao Paulo.

In a victory speech Sunday, Brazil’s president-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva promised to reverse a surge in deforestation in the Amazon rainforest. “At the same time, we will promote sustainable development of communities in the Amazon.” To achieve this in his third term, he will have to boost environmental law enforcement, face a hostile Congress and deal with state governors who have strong ties with the defeated far-right President Jair Bolsonaro.

You Should Have Waited. The New I Bond Rate is More Attractive.
Individual investors rushed to purchase series I Treasury inflation-linked savings bonds last week, before a Friday deadline to get a 9.6% interest rate for the first six months. Investors were so eager to get the juicy rate that the TreasuryDirect website struggled under the traffic last week. Yet the new rate structure for I Bonds actually is more attractive, even though the rate of 6.89% for the first six months, announced earlier Tuesday by the Treasury, is lower, Barron’s estimates.

Down More Than 50%: These 3 “Strong Buy” Stocks Are Too Cheap to Ignore
With the Federal Reserve holding its November FOMC meeting now, there’s plenty of speculation on the central bank’s next move. The conventional wisdom says the Fed will hike rates again, by another 75 basis points – the fourth such hike in a row this year. But after that, no one knows. Inflation remains above 8%, so the Fed’s tighter monetary policies have clearly not reined in high prices – yet. According to Fundstrat, however, the Fed has moved far enough in that direction, and we’ll start to
