RBI launches wholesale CBDC pilot today with nine banks

RBI has identified nine banks to participate in the launch of the first pilot of digital rupee in the wholesale segment.
The chosen nine banks include the State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Union Bank of India, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Yes Bank, IDFC First Bank and HSBC. The pilot commences on November 1.
