👋 Hello Hunters,

I am very excited to share my latest open-source project created during Hacktoberfest’22 which allows you to style your GitHub READMEs with an awesome badge.

🚀 What is Topmate README Badge Generator?

It's a small tool that generates markdown & HTML syntax for the Topmate.io profile badge which can easily be included in GitHub READMEs or any other web page.

⚒️ How do I use it?

Visit this and just enter your Topmate.io username and click Generate Badge CTA to see the markdown (& HTML) syntax for your badge. You can copy and paste it into your GitHub profile README to connect with your audience seamlessly.

👨‍⚖️ Is it free?

Absolutely yes! It will be free forever. Thanks to Heroku for providing free dynos. Consider sponsoring in order to keep this service running once the free dynos quota is over.

🫶 Want to contribute?

Your contributions are most welcome, please head to the GitHub repository. You can also find the public API on Postman.

🙏🏻 Acknowledgement

Special thanks to @yashvi_mahapatra for helping me with the front-end development and @yash8 and Sharmishtha for designing the initial Figma mocks.

Huge shoutout to Shields.io service for providing badges in the SVG format.

🤝 Why did I build this?

A lot has changed over the years, from being mentored to mentoring. I've always believed in giving back to the community, and Topmate has made it easy for me to connect with my mentees. I made this tiny service to generate README badges which will help me engage with the open-source community on GitHub.
