Oppo A98 to come with Curved display and 108MP camera

Oppo may be busy with its upcoming releases in the flagship segments. The brand may have plenty of time with the Oppo Find X6 series, but if you recall, OnePlus is basically under Oppo’s wings. That said, the company has to care with the OnePlus 11. Going back to Oppo, the company has to launch the Oppo Find N2 and as per the rumors a new Flip variant. Both may appear very soon with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Last but not least, the company also prepares for the Oppo Reno 9 series release. So, definitely, Oppo is busy, but there is enough time for a solid mid-range phone dubbed Oppo A98.

According to reports, the company is preparing the higher model in the Oppo A-series. The device may carry the Oppo A98 moniker according to Digital Chat Station. The leakster says the phone will have curved edges and a punch-hole display. Moreover, the panel will bring the highest megapixel count camera and the fastest wired charging solution ever seen on an A-series phone. Honestly, don’t hold your breath, as Oppo A-series current records are the standard nowadays.

Oppo A98 alleged specifications

The new information states that the Oppo A98 flaunts a display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution. The leaks say the panel has “curves”. But right now, we can’t say if this is an OLED panel. Moreover, it is said to pack up to 2,160 Hz PWM dimming. The handset will also offer a high screen-to-body ratio and will have a 3.3x my chin. Under the hood, the phone is said to pack the Qualcomm chipset with SM7325 model designation. Apparently, this stands for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G. That is still an excellent chipset for the premium mid-range segment. Unfortunately, there are no details regarding the RAM and storage options. Anyway, we expect something in the 8GB / 128 GB territory.

The Oppo A98 will pack a 108 MP main camera on the back. As usual, we can also expect other sensors to complete the package, but the info is unclear. The phone will draw its power from a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 67 W fast charging. These camera and charging numbers are the highest for the Oppo A-series. But have been available on other phones for a while.

According to Digital Chat Station, Oppo will soon introduce new mid-range phones in China and International markets. We expect the Oppo A98 to be among them. The company will launch the Oppo Reno 8 series in November, and in December will introduce the Oppo Find N2, and Find N Flip devices.
