据央视新闻报道，当地时间10月27日，美国国家航空航天局（NASA）的研究人员表示，“洞察”号火星探测器发来的数据显示，火星探测器探测到沿火星表面传播的“火星震”震波，而不是更深层的震波。
据报道，这是自2008年11月“洞察”号到达火星以来所探测到的最大震波。
“洞察”号的科学任务原计划持续两年，但后来延长至2022年12月，预计到今年12月将结束任务，因为它的太阳能电池板已经被积尘覆盖。
登陆火星以来，“洞察”号已经探测到1000多次“火星震”，并在今年5月探测到一次5.0级“火星震”，是它探测到的最强一次“火星震”。
另外，2021年12月24日时在火星Amazonis Planitia地区侦测到“火星震”，有最新研究发现它实际上是陨石撞击造成的。
