Attention nowadays is becoming as rare as handwritten letters 😁. Exciting to know what works for you, which apps you are using, pros/cons of these apps.

Chef, now building apps!
The only app I really use is Opal, with the new app it gives a real time screen time view using Apple's API which is great!

Excessive Screen times are like bad habits which can only go away once you really have the will to do so. No app (all of them come with temp pauses and easy kills) I think can solve this issue.
@saurabhwadhawan You are right that a person needs to have the motivation to do so. What other steps are required to overwhelm this bad habit? Do you have experience reducing screen time?

@dmitriy_strukov I leave my phone on ringer in the other room when working.

I'd consider myself a pretty disciplined person but still find myself habitually checking my phone simply because it's always in my pocket. Agree on the app solutions. I've tried a variety of apps, but the issue I ran into is apps are too easy to ignore or dismiss. Also tried ways of putting my phone away in boxes, tech drawers, and charging stations. Having a designated place for the phone helped, but as a data nerd, I wanted to see some data on how I was doing. It's the same reason I wear a Garmin for my workouts and a Whoop band to track my fitness and sleep.

This is something I eat, sleep, and breathe. We are launching a company called Aro that pairs an app with a device to reduce screen time by helping you physically put down your phone. It really gamifies the experience of being off your phone. Hoping to have our submission up soon.

A huge part of our software design, hardware design, and overall experience is based on the principles and science of habit formation. A resource we love is the book Atomic Habits by James Clear. I would highly recommend it to anyone trying to develop or change a habit, including habits related to your relationship with your phone.
