傳輸速率提高至 80Gbps，USB Promoter Group 稍後將發布 USB4 2.0 規範
一併更新 USB PD 規範，以及 DisplayPort、PCIe 等傳輸協議的支援規格。
USB4 介面主要推手之一 USB Promoter Group，預定在 11 月 USB DevDays 系列開發者活動展開之前，發布能夠實現 80Gbps 傳輸速率的 USB4 2.0 版規範，同時也更新 USB Power Delivery 規範等項目。
USB Promoter Group 目前所揭露有限資訊提到，USB4 2.0 植基於新的物理層架構，能將傳輸速率從 USB4 1.0 的 40Gbps 倍增至 80Gbps。他們同時更新了一些傳輸協定，強調將能更有效利用頻寬、提高性能，這將使 USB 3.2 傳輸速率得以超過 20Gbps，也能支援新版本的 DisplayPort 與 PCIe 匯流排介面規範。
USB4 2.0 保留了向下相容性，現行遲遲未完整上路的 USB4 1.0（是的，未來該這麼稱呼了），以及既有 USB 3.2 / 2.0、Thunderbolt 3 等，相容性都無異於 USB4 1.0。USB4 2.0 也定義出 USB4 2.0 80Gbps 主動式線材，片面看來亦可使用 USB4 40Gbps 被動式線材，至於差異性與限制如何還有待規範發布時揭曉。
你怎麼看 USB4（精確來說是 USB4 1.0）呢？USB4 從 2019 年的年初喊到現在，從廠商動作可以看出新規範要能夠完整上路，並非一朝一夕就能達成的事情，等著看它在今年內是否能構成完整應用，USB4 2.0 這未來式就再說了。
