Not enough subscribers? 3 tips to help you gain an audience faster.

When I first started my blog, it was stressful to realize that I was writing as if for myself. I don’t have an audience, and I don’t know how to get one.

I was constantly haunted by the question: Who am I doing this for? Why am I wasting my time and resources on a useless activity?

And these are logical questions that I think everyone who is just starting something asks themselves. I want to say that it’s perfectly normal to have no results at the beginning. The most important thing is to find people who have already started to do something, to find out how they did it. Learning from your mistakes is good, but it’s even better to learn from other people’s experiences and grow faster.

And if you’re reading this now, you’re very lucky (I want to believe it). I plan to tell you how I’ve increased my audience in a few months by following 3 simple rules.

Rule 1. Regularity

This is probably the most fundamental and important rule. If you want to develop your blog and grow, it becomes real work. You need to make content on a regular basis. This is the only way to organically attract the right audience to your blog. Why does it become a job? Because you get some responsibility, and you start putting in the extra effort: planning your publications, creating a content plan, and spending time researching and analyzing information for publications. It takes time, just like any other activity. And how much and how well you approach it will determine your success.

I plan my publications a month in advance. I set aside a few days, usually a weekend, to write content for the weeks ahead, and then just publish them on my schedule.

Create a content plan and give yourself a few days a week or a month when you can sit down and implement it.

Rule 2. Trending

Once the content plan is ready — you need to choose topics for publications that are really interesting to your audience. To do this, answer your own questions:

  1. Who is my audience?
  2. Why did they come to Medium and what is their goal?
  3. How can I help them reach their goal with my publications?

The next way is to look at what is already popular. Simply enter the tags that are the topic of your blog into the search and look for the most popular publications. After that, I guarantee you, you’ll get a huge dose of insights and quality, trending topics to publish.

My stats

Before I make a content plan, I always focus on my past publications and analyze the things I haven’t disclosed in enough detail to tell about them. I watch the comments of people who ask and ask questions under my posts. And, of course, I watch popular publications on my topic. This allows me to create articles that people look at and read.

Rule 3. Publish in publication

The easiest way to find your audience is to post in communities that already have an audience. That’s why I think Medium is one of the best tools for aspiring experts to easily find their audience. If you can notice, almost all of my publications are posted in groups. This allows me to attract over 100 subscribers per month. And yes, it works awesome. The most important thing is that your content is quality and relevant.

My stats

Just find a group with a large number of subscribers and submit a submission to be published. This is the easiest and most effective way.

Conclusions

To summarize, the formula for blogging is simple — actively write about relevant topics in groups where your audience is.

There is no secret. It takes patience and consistency to grow organically. Real success is never quick. So be patient and let’s get to work!
